Prepare to leave your riding buddies in the dust when you're rocking Cannondale's F29 Carbon 3. Its carbon frame with vibration-damping SAVE stays, 90mm-travel Lefty fork and big 29-inch wheels smooth out rough terrain and boost efficiency for an unbelievably fast ride. The stiff frame and race geometry give this F29 quick reflexes, serious acceleration and capable trail handling. This rocket rolls a 2x10 SRAM drivetrain, Stan's wheels and Magura brakes. Smart details like a 7-inch front rotor, Schwalbe tubeless-ready tires and a Prologo saddle complete this great steed. With a carbon 29er hardtail beneath you, you have no excuse to come in second. Use it wisely.
When constructing their carbon fiber frames, Cannondale uses high strength, high impact resins similar to those used in carbon baseball bats. The fibers and resins are put in a lay-up designed to maximize the anisotropic (direction specific) qualities, making for a bike that is light and stiff, and capable of absorbing impact without damaging the structural integrity. Once the frame has passed quality testing, Cannondale adds stiffer, higher-modulus fibers in safe areas to increase stiffness and tune the ride.
Cannondale's SPEED SAVE rear stays create a micro suspension system that allows the rear wheel to track the ground, improving comfort, control, traction and handling. This allows the bike to roll faster, accelerate better and corner harder without affecting pedaling efficiency.
BB30 is an oversize bottom bracket standard that boosts stiffness and decreases weight. BB30 bottom bracket bearings are pressed directly into compatible frames, meaning there are no heavy external cups to thread in. And, BB30 cranksets feature 30mm-diameter spindles (standard spindles are smaller) for greater pedaling efficiency and increased power transfer.
